TU to Host School Counseling Conference

Thomas University will be welcoming school counselors from across Southwest Georgia as it hosts the Georgia School Counselor Association (GSCA) Region 6 Conference. 

The conference will include school counselors from Sumter, Randolph, Terrell, Lee, Crisp, Turner, Worth, Dougherty, Calhoun, Clay, Tift, Early, Baker, Mitchell, Colquitt, Miller, Seminole, Decatur, Grady, Thomas, Wilcox, Ben Hill, Irwin, Berrien, Cook, Lowndes, and Brooks counties. 

School counselors from Forsyth County Schools, local therapists from the Vashti Center, and Hands and Hearts for Horses will present on the topic “Making a Difference in the Lives of Students: Addressing Anxiety in Children and Adolescents” from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, February 23 in the Flowers Auditorium. 

The presenters will address the effects of anxiety in children and adolescents, and on interventions you use to make a difference. 

The conference is free and open to the public. The Thomas University Counseling Department will be providing coffee and donuts.
