Homeland Security
Homeland security is a concerted national effort to prevent and disrupt terrorist attacks, protect against man-made and natural hazards, and respond to and recover from incidents that do occur. It involves collaboration and cooperation from federal, state and local resources and is comprised of a wide-range of services including immigration, cybersecurity, infrastructure security, emergency management, customs and law enforcement.
The Homeland Security degree at Thomas University concentrates on the development of skills in the areas of national security, critical infrastructure protection, intelligence, risk management, legal and ethical issues required to succeed in this critical and growing field. The major is designed to introduce students to the field and advance the knowledge of dedicated individuals assigned to protecting our nation and communities.
Thomas University’s program is a recognized participant of the University and Agency Partnership Program, or UAPP. The Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS) makes available through the Partnership its curriculum, Digital Library, and all other resources.
