Renewals
Circulating TU library materials may be renewed by TU students, faculty, and staff if they are not overdue and if there are no holds on the item. Renewals must be made in person at the circulation desk (Distance students and faculty must renew over the phone, before the due date, by speaking with a Librarian or Staff member and NOT a student worker).

Most materials are due on the last day of classes of the active semester.

A shortened loan period may be less than stated in the event:

  • The last day of classes comes before the checkout loan period
  • Student withdraws from TU – all items must be returned prior to withdrawal
  • Faculty/staff leave employ of TU – all items must be returned prior to last day worked

+Textbook Reserves

Course reserves are materials that instructors place in the Library for their students to use during the semester. Reserves are available in print at the circulation desk for Room Use only.

These may be items owned by the instructor, copies of class notes or tests, or materials owned by the Library. Your instructor’s syllabus should reflect which items are on reserve. No periodicals or reference materials will be placed on reserve as they will always be available in the library. However, photocopies of articles can be placed on reserve for one semester.

Students keeping library owned reserve items longer than the specified period of time will be charged $1.00 per day overdue. If a library owned item on reserve is lost by a student, replacement costs of the item plus a $5.00 processing fee will be charged to the student. If an instructor’s personal copy is lost by the student, the instructor will decide the consequences for the student.

+Computer Labs and Printing

Computer Labs
The Library has two computer labs for your use. These computers are primarily intended for educational research by TU students, faculty and staff. Both labs are open whenever the library is open The library is also equipped with WiFI for your laptops and other equipment.

Printing
A printer is available in each of the computer labs.  All printers are able to print in color and in black and white. Each student is allowed a 400 page allowance to use during the semester.

Copy Machines
A faculty copier is located in the library for the convenience of faculty and adjuncts. A code must be entered prior to printing.  Full-time faculty will be assigned a personal login code.  Adjuncts will use a department assigned code.  IT is responsible for setting up faculty user codes in the machine. The library will not provide printer codes to faculty or adjuncts.

Students may make copies on any printer located within the two computer labs. Students must first retrieve their printer code by accessing their printer account through Hawklink.
