Student Activities Coordinator
Job Description:
The Student Activities Coordinator reports directly to the Vice President for Student Life. The Coordinator provides leadership and direction as well as administers and manages the student activities program for the University. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the student activities budget; setting goals; coordinating assessment efforts; trainingand monitoringCampus Activity Board (CAB) members, and student event staff. The Coordinator implements strategies based upon student activity outcomes, CAB and student input. This position is a twelve-month appointment.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Includes but are not limited to the following:
- Organize and plan New Student Orientation including working with appropriate campus departments on logistics of New Student Orientation
- Plan and coordinate Student Activities and special events
- Manage all Thomas University Student Life social media pages
- Create all Thomas University Identification cards for students, faculty, and staff
- Serve as the advisor to the Campus Activities Board (CAB)
- Supervise Student Activities and CAB events
- Responsible for keeping track of the Student Life budget
- Work with the VP for Student Life, CAB officers, and CAB members on planning student activities available
- Working with students on the logistics of implementing, sustaining, and supporting TU clubs and organizations
- Assist in other areas of Student Life as needed
- Other duties as appropriately assigned as needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Previous experience working in a University environment preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong supervisor skills
- Comfortable with technology and social media
- Experience with managing budgets, planning student activities, and advising student groups
- Experience creating graphics to communicate important information to allmembers of Thomas University
- Able to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
