Residential Assistant for Housing
DESCRIPTION:
Thomas University, an independent, not-for-profit, institution of higher education in Thomasville, Georgia with undergraduate and graduate programs invites applicants for the position of Resident Assistant for University Housing. Resident Assistants are primarily responsible for ensuring the safety and general well-being of their residents and creating positive academic and social environments for the residents with whom they live and work. Undergraduate students like their residents, Resident Assistants serve as resources and support to make the resident hall experience the best possible and to enhance the student experience across the campus The Resident Assistant reports to the Resident Director, the Director of Housing, and the Dean of Students.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be have an academic standing of Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at the time of appointment.
· Must maintain a full-time course load for the period of appointment. Resident Assistants must maintain 12-18 credit hours per semester. Any deviation from these requirements must be approved by the Dean of Students, Director of Housing, or designee.
· Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher at the time of appointment. RAs are expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 during the time of appointment. Deviations from this policy must be approved by the Dean of Students, Director of Housing, or designee.
· Must be able to work the full time of the appointment, from late July to mid-May of the academic year.
· Must be able to be present and engage in all required activities and duties.
· Must be in good academic, financial, and judicial standing with the University at the time of appointment and maintain good standing during the period of appointment. Applicants on probation must receive the approval of the Dean of Students, Director of Housing or designee for consideration.
· Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
· Must be able and willing to comply with all university policies.

· Demonstrate knowledge and experience of college-life in general and life at Thomas University in particular.
