FAMU Concert Choir to perform Nov. 7 as part of ACTU’s Sundays at 4 seriesPost Published On:
Mark Butler, Ph.D. will lead the Florida A&M University Concert Choir in an ACTU Sundays at 4 performance on Nov. 7 at the Thomasville Center for the Arts, 600 E. Washington St., Thomasville.
The choir’s diverse repertoire spans the choral genres of classical, jazz, contemporary, spiritual, gospel and multicultural styles. The Concert Choir consists of some of the most talented students on the campus of FAMU. These humble yet gifted students come together as music majors and non-music majors to prepare musical events such as annual fall, holiday and spring concerts as well as other invitations and tour performances.
Recent tours included Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Georgia. Members of the Concert Choir have also performed at the prestigious world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City.
ACTU is supported in part by Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. Georgia Council for the Arts also receives support from its partner agency, the National Endowment for the Arts. This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
