Doctor of Blues comes to ThomasvillePost Published On:
David Evans, the Doctor of Blues, a noted Blues scholar and musician performed at the Thomas County Public Library on Friday, Nov. 22, as part of the ACTU Fridays at Noon series. In addition to the Friday event, Evans also held Blues workshops for music students on Thursday, Nov. 21, at both Thomas County Central High School and Thomasville High School.
During the performance, Evans shared music and information with the crowd about Blues singer Tommy Johnson from Mississippi. His performance was funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Georgia Council for the Arts.
