Coordinator of Military Affairs & Business Development

Position Overview:

Reports to the Vice President of Military and Corporate Relations. The Coordinator of Military Affairs and Business Development assists with managing, planning, and implementing enrollment, benefit verification, maintaining Department of Defense Voluntary Education portals and execution of the daily operation of the institution’s military related programs. The Coordinator of Military Affairs and Business Development will research and advise the VP of Military and Corporate Relations on potential training and certification opportunities, coordinate information sessions relative to the Division’s objective of enhancing corporate relations, serve as the VA School Certifying Official (SCO), and work closely with external stakeholders to increase military affiliated student population at Thomas University.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with overseeing and maintaining military related programs such as but not limited to, MyCAA, ARMY IgnitED, AI Portal, NCMIS and Department of Defense educational MOUs

· Serves as the secondary POC for military affiliated students

· Work directly with businesses to assist in both strategic and tactical planning and tasks to grow awareness of TU’s non-credit credentialing and certification training programs

· Reviews procedures and guidelines to ensure processes are in aligned with current federal and state regulations as they relate to State and Federal tuition assistance, and GI bill benefits

· Prepares or ensures preparation of necessary reports, newsletters and correspondence relative to status, progress, costs, and operation

· Actively recruits military affiliated students by attending base education fairs, military/veteran conferences, identifying external partnerships/resources related to TU’s military programming objectives

· Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, organizational skills

· Effectively prioritize and complete multiple assignments

· Superior clerical skills

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or reminders to complete tasks

· Adherence to professional ethics including confidentiality

· Effective business communication and presentation skills

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree required

· At least 1 year of experience in Higher Education

· Comprehensive knowledge of military and veteran related programs
