Veterans Services

Thomas University is proud to provide services to area veterans. In April 2017, TU established the Veterans Career and Transition Center specifically for area veterans, active duty, National Guard and Reserve service members and their families. The Center provides a number of referral services to a variety of organizations who provide support and assistance to transitioning military.

The Center is open to TU students and all members of the military as a resource for referrals, to relax between classes and meet with other veterans.

The Transition Center is located on the east side of the Rust Science Center (with the Library), Room 104.

The Center is located on the Forbes campus in the Campus Center (with the Spirit Shop and Hawk’s Nest). Access and parking is available off Pinetree Blvd. It is open to all TU students and all members of the military.Student Counseling Center

Additionally, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We’re committed to improving crisis services and advancing suicide prevention by empowering individuals, advancing professional best practices, and building awareness.

The mission of the SVA is to provide military veterans with the resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education and following graduation. SVA is a 501(c)(3) coalition of student veterans groups on college campuses across the globe. These member chapters are the “boots on the ground” that help veterans reintegrate into campus life and succeed academically. Each chapter must be an officially recognized student group by their university or college and provide a peer-to-peer network for veterans who are attending the school. Additionally, chapters often coordinate campus activities, provide pre-professional networking, and generally provide a touchstone for student veterans in higher education.
