As a top 10 Military Friendly School, we understand the significance of your military training and will accept up to 64 credits from your Joint Service Transcript.

Accelerate your degree: Credit by Examination

To reduce the length of time and cost to complete a program of study, you may receive up to 30 combined hours of credit for approved courses toward a Bachelor’s degree or 15 hours toward an Associate of Arts degree through any of the following:

+Tuition Assistance

All soldiers including ARMY National Guard and Reserve components that would like to utilize the tuition assistance program are required to visit their Post voluntary education center and request academic counseling from the ESO or other education support personnel before requesting tuition assistance.   Upon completion of your academic counseling, you will be eligible to establish your GoArmyEd account.  All tuition assistance request must be facilitated through GoArmyEd.

ARMY COOL (Credentialing Opportunities Online)

In an effort to assist service members with obtaining industry certifications and licensures relative to their Military Occupation Specialties, the Army now offers a pathway to credentialing.  For service members working in specialized career fields, obtaining a professional certification assists with promotion and can open doors to immediate employment upon leaving the armed services.

Eligibility

  • Active Duty service members
  • National Guard and Reserve service members

Paying for Your Credential

There is a cost associated with obtaining a certification and/or licensure.  In addition to the fees assessed by the respective credentialing body, exam preparation and training may be required.  In some cases, fees and training cost can be covered by Army Tuition Assistance or the GI Bill®.

  • Certification Preparation and Training: Please note, tuition assistance will not cover study materials, non-college degree programs, membership and application fees, CEUs, or recertification and exam fees.  If the training is included in your degree program, tuition assistance will cover the cost.  For additional information, please visit the following link https://www.cool.army.mil/costs_and_funding/army_tuition_assistance_program.htm
  • GI Bill®:  The GI Bill® covers licensing and certification, as well as supplemental education and training.  The GI Bill® will reimburse $2,000 per exam, CEUs and fees for retesting.  For additional information on how to use your GI Bill® to cover licensing and certification, please visit the following link http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/docs/pamphlets/lc_brochure.pdf
