TU plans two commencement ceremonies for May 8

Post Published On:

Thomas University will hold two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 8, to celebrate both its 2020 and 2021 classes. The 8:30 a.m. undergraduate ceremony will be for students completing associate and bachelor’s degrees. The 6 p.m. graduate ceremony will be for students completing master’s and education specialist degrees. Both ceremonies will take place in person on the Forbes Campus in front of Smith-Bonvillian Hall.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, TU did not hold a commencement ceremony in 2020, so those graduates are invited to participate this year along with the 2021 graduates. Only graduates and the two guests they indicated on their RSVP forms will be permitted at the appropriate commencement ceremony due to space limitations and COVID restrictions. There will be no additional guests permitted at either ceremony. However, TU will have an enhanced livestream available online during each ceremony for friends and family to share in the special event. The link to that livestream will be provided on TU’s website and social media pages.

All guests and participants will be required to wear face masks.
