Women’s Basketball – College Work Study
This role will report directly to the Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff with a primary focus on managing the daily logistics concerning player equipment and practice facility usage for the Women’s Basketball Team. This is a part-time, College Work-Study position for 20 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in game day preparation and/or day-to-day tasks as directed by the Assistant Coach
Perform all laundry-related tasks for the Team, including the collection and cleaning of all used practice/game gear and distribution of clean practice/game gear throughout the week using proper protocols. - Assist with practice set up/breakdown and operations including but not limited to: setting up drills during practice, assisting with drills, clock operation, and floor wipe up.
- Ensure water bottles are sanitized after each practice/game and filled up with ice.
- Ensure all basketballs are inflated properly before each practice.
- Managing gym courts as necessary.
- Keep track of Stats during games.
- Assist in packing for road trips.
- Stock and prepare officials locker room before home games.
- Attend practice with tennis shoes and show up 1 hour before the start of practice.
- Perform, as needed, all duties assigned by Coaching staff.
- Complete designated office hours as assigned by Coaching staff (creating document/ organizing files).
- Check inventory of equipment and ensure it is properly maintained.
- Set up practice gear in the player’s lockers each day.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a current or incoming full-time student at Thomas University (minimum 12 credit
hours per semester). - Must qualify for work study to be compensated.
- Maintain GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Ability to stand and work several hours at a time.
- Must demonstrate a hard work ethic.
- Excellent organizational, planning, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others or independently as the situation requires.
- Excellent verbal communication skills; ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
- Ability to contribute to and maintain detailed records.
- Knowledge of athletic equipment and uniform repair Team-oriented work style.
