TU plans ‘Casino Night in Hollywood’ fundraiser in Cairo
Post Published On:Thomas University’s upcoming fundraiser event in Cairo will focus on the lights and glamour of Hollywood along with casino games, food and the opportunity to support TU’s Grady County students.
“We want to thank the businesses and community members in Grady County who come together for this wonderful event that supports TU students,” said Kurt Stringfellow, TU’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “Proceeds from this event specifically go toward scholarships for TU’s students from Grady County.”
“Casino Night in Hollywood” will be held Saturday, March 21, at the Grady County Cultural Center.
“We are planning a great meal, great entertainment, and a chance for sponsors to gamble the night away without hurting their wallets,” said Chelsie Cosby, chair of the Casino Night Planning Committee, a Grady County resident and a TU alumna. “Sponsorship packages include play money packages for each attendee, so there’s no going broke for a good time.”
Sponsorship packages are available. Individual tickets are available online at thomasu.edu/tickets/casinonight.html.
“We’re offering several different sponsorship packages to meet the budget of any organization or individual wishing to attend the event,” Cosby continued. “We want everyone to have the chance to join in the fun and help us raise funds toward continuing education within our community.”
She encouraged Grady County businesses to consider a sponsorship or contribution of some kind.
“These students are your future employees and business owners,” Cosby said. “Whether it’s a sponsorship package or an auction donation, there are several opportunities available.”
The Casino Night Planning Committee has been organizing the event since the summer of 2019. In addition to Cosby, other members include Todd Butler, Melissa Butler, Julian Brown, Jeremy Jones, Tenacious McIntyre, Courtney King and Jim Ellis.
