Thomas University Set to Celebrate 2024 Commencement

Thomas University will host its 69th commencement ceremony to honor the Class of 2024 on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

There will be two ceremonies that will celebrate the accomplishments of almost 600 TU undergraduate and graduate students on the Forbes Campus. The undergraduate ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the graduate ceremony will start at 6 p.m. 

Superbowl champion and entrepreneur Danny Copeland will deliver the commencement address.  

Danny Copeland

Copeland played five seasons in the NFL. He was the Kansas City Chiefs Special Teams Captain, the Washington Commanders (formerly the Redskins) Man of the Year, and a Super Bowl XXVI Champion.  

After retiring from the NFL, Copeland became a certified fitness trainer. The Meigs, GA native is the founder and president of COGI (Children of Godly Inheritance) Athletic Company, which trains athletes. His former student-athletes have earned college scholarships and found academic and athletic success. Some are currently NFL, NBA, and MLB draft choices. 

Copeland is also the founder of Next Level Training and Motivation, Inc., and the creator of the Champion’s Certificate.  

Copeland is a husband, father of seven, brother, teammate, and servant of Christ. 

 The ceremonies will be live-streamed. The link will be shared on the day of the ceremonies on the TU website and social media accounts.
