Next TU Science Café to focus on connection between climate change and hurricanes
Post Published On:The next installment of Thomas University’s popular Science Café series will feature Dr. Allison Wing, an Assistant Professor in Florida State University’s Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science presenting “Climate Change and Hurricanes” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, via Zoom.
Prior to arriving at FSU in January of 2017, Dr. Wing was a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in the Division of Ocean and Climate Physics. She currently maintains an appointment there as an Adjunct Associate Research Scientist. Dr. Wing received a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2014 under the advisement of Professor Kerry Emanuel in the Program in Atmospheres, Oceans, and Climate, and a B.S. in Atmospheric Science from Cornell University in 2008. Dr. Wing studies atmospheric science with a focus on tropical convection, tropical cyclones, and climate.
