The Mac Lab now has new computers for students and instructors to utilize for classes.

There are 10 new Apple Mac Mini 4K monitors with keyboards and mice. The Mac desktops are compatible with the current Apple TV.  There are also different software and programs installed on the Apple Mac including Adobe Creative Cloud,  Microsoft Office, and an Apple Education Pro Package.

Students who are enrolled in Music Production, Film I and II, Web Design, and Digital Photography I and II courses will be able to use the lab. Students who are also a part of TU’s Creative Technologies and Literature and Media programs will be able to use the lab for all their digital media-related projects.

“The new Mac computers will advance our instruction in all areas of digital media, including film and videography, music production, website design, and digital photography,” Dr. Jason Dunn, Division Chair of Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies and Associate Professor of English, said. “The new technology will be enormously beneficial to students in the new media-focused Humanities programs and students who would like to gain basic experience in digital media.”

“The new computers in the Mac Lab on campus make a world of difference for our students as they pursue their projects in Creative Technologies” stated Dr. Karl Barton, Professor of Music. “This will allow students in my current audio production course in music and multimedia to realize their artistic vision, and I know that the photography and film production students are excited to explore the possibilities the new machines will provide.”
