Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach

Job Description:

The Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach will report to the Athletic Director and will be responsible for the overall organization, administration, and leadership of the men’s and women’s swimming programs. Responsibilities include practice planning (skill development and race strategy), meet preparation and management, fundraising, budget oversight, scheduling, student-athlete recruitment and retention, academic oversight, compliance with NAIA and conference regulations, swimmer development, and additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will recruit, develop, and lead competitive men’s and women’s swimming programs consistent with the mission of the University. This includes establishing the overall vision and philosophy of the program, hiring and supervising staff, overseeing training and conditioning programs, managing roster composition, and making personnel decisions.

The Head Coach is responsible for maintaining compliance with NAIA and conference rules, promoting academic success and character development, fostering community engagement, supporting student-athlete retention, and ensuring effective program administration. The candidate should demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, along with the ability to mentor student-athletes in a small college environment.

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

3–5 years’ experience within a Professional, Collegiate, Club, or High School swimming program, with demonstrated recruiting experience and previous collegiate coaching experience preferred. Head coaching experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with experience based on the Department scale.
