Director of Student Counseling Services

DESCRIPTION:

Thomas University, an independent, not-for-profit, institution of higher education in Thomasville, Georgia with undergraduate and graduate programs invites applicants for the position of Director of Student Counseling Services. The position entails supporting and promoting student mental health, overseeing the daily operations of the Student Counseling Center, and teaching UNV110 Veterans Success (see Job Description for additional job details). The position is a campus-based appointment with administrative duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Earned Master’s degree in a counseling related field (MSW, MSC).

• Minimum of three (3) years post-internship.

• Experience with providing short-term professional counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and group counseling.

• Prefer three (3) years of experience providing supervision to professional counselors: experience developing counseling workshops, training, and presentations on mental health-related topics to various audiences.

• Prefer military and veterans experience related to mental health services.

• Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or completing the licensure process
