Adjunct MLS Faculty
Description:
Thomas University, an independent, not for profit, institution of higher education with undergraduate and graduate programs in Thomasville, Georgia seeks applicants for adjunct faculty for the Medical Laboratory Science department. Positions are available on an as needed basis for online instruction.
An adjunct would be responsible for the following:
· Grading examinations and assignments, reviewing evaluations with students, and meeting all established deadlines for testing, assignments, and grade submissions in accordance with the college and program policies
· Develops and delivers instruction in collaboration with the program director
· Provides course syllabi for instruction in collaboration with the program director
· Maintaining instructional material to ensure an organized and supportive learning environment
· Collaboration with program leadership and faculty is essential to support student learning, contribute to ongoing assessment of the program, uphold academic standards and program accreditation standards, and contribute to the overall success of the Medical Laboratory Science program
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge in the following content areas: Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Immunohematology, Urinalysis, Molecular Diagnostics, Laboratory Management
· Ability to work in an online teaching environment
· Knowledge of computer based academic delivery systems
Qualifications:
· Must hold a master’s degree or higher in the related field or teaching discipline
· Medical Laboratory Scientist certification is required (ASCP preferred)
· Practical employment experience is required
· Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit good judgement in making decisions concurrent with college policy
· Ability to work cooperatively with all constituents
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Knowledge of course content
