Coordinator of Military Affairs

Position Overview:

Reports to the Director of Military and Corporate Relations. The Coordinator of Military Affairs assists with managing, planning, and implementing enrollment, benefit verification, assists with the execution of the daily operation of the institution’s military and veterans related programs. The Coordinator of Military Affairs will serve as a secondary VA School Certifying Official (SCO) and work closely with external stakeholders to increase military affiliated student population at Thomas University. Will work closely with the admissions team to assist in the application process of all military affiliated students that apply to the university.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with overseeing and maintaining military related programs such as but not limited to, MyCAA, ARMY IgnitED, AI Portal, NCMIS and Department of Defense educational MOUs

· Serves as the primary point of contact for all military affiliated applicants

· Assists military affiliated applicants with obtaining VA Certificate of Eligibility

· Serves as the secondary point of contact for all military affiliated students

· Actively recruits military affiliated students by attending base education fairs

Requirements:

· Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, organizational skills

· Effectively prioritize and complete multiple assignments

· Superior clerical skills

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or reminders to complete tasks

· Adherence to professional ethics including confidentiality

· Effective business communication and presentation skills

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred

· 1 year of experience in Higher Education preferred

· Comprehensive knowledge of military and veteran related programs

· Prior service in an active duty branch of the military preferred
