Job Summary
Identify prospects and their interest for the V.P. of Advancement and the university President. Develop and maintain relationships with donors and potential donors and encourage their continued support. Assist in capital projects and foundation research. Oversee all special events for cultivation and fundraising. Foster a culture of building private support for the college from a business, corporate, and private foundations.
Essential Functions
- Identify, qualify and develop proposals directed toward Thomas University’s fundraising priorities and also with Annual Giving, Capital Campaign, Endowed efforts and Planned Giving.
- Manages the Institutional Advancement stewardship policy.
- Identify, cultivate and solicit prospects (donors) including individuals, corporations and foundations for Annual Gifts.
- Organizes cultivation events (showcase events, luncheons, galas, etc.)
- Identifies, recruits, trains, motivates and recognizes volunteer leadership for Major Gifts and Special Events as necessary.
- Provides support as needed for the Institutional Advancement Office Capital Projects and Campaigns.
- Advises Alumni Board of Governors on matters of fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and special events.
- Assist the Vice President for Institutional Advancement on matters of planned giving and foundations and corporations.
- Performs other appropriate duties as designated and assigned by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
- Work directly with the academic community to identify current programs in need private support.
- Provide timely, written reports regarding the outcome of cultivation and solicitation activities including mid-year and end year reporting to funders.
Other Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Five or more years in fund raising.
- Personal commitment to the mission of Thomas University.
- Maintain a professional manner while handling multiple projects.
- Professional experience in all aspects of development.
- Available for travel on many occasions.
- Ability to work weekends and some holidays.
- Strong personal skills in a social setting.
- Knowledge of computer based software(i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, Power point, and Publisher)
