Assistant Professor of Education
DESCRIPTION:
Thomas University, an independent, not-for-profit, institution of higher education in Thomasville, Georgia with undergraduate and graduate programs invites applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction. The position requires teaching courses at the Baccalaureate and Master’s levels, scholarship, and service responsibilities. Reporting to the Division Chair, the position is a campus-based faculty appointment with the start date of August 15, 2024.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ed.S. or higher in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, Teacher Leadership or a related education field.
• Minimum of three years of P-12 experience.
• Demonstrated experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation.
• Expertise with both in-person and online instruction.
• Experience supervising candidates in clinical experiences.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit good judgment in making decisions concurrent with University policy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, Teacher Leadership or a related education field.
• Advanced skills using Microsoft 365, including extensive use of spreadsheets.
• Comprehensive awareness of current issues facing P-12 education.
• Working knowledge of education standards, including national and Georgia-developed standards and accreditation.
