Medical Technology

The Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology is offered as a bridge program in cooperation with John D. Archbold Hospital. As the program is currently designed, a student entering the program will have an Associate Degree from an accredited college in Medical Laboratory Technology and will possess national certification in his/her area.

When all classes are completed the student will earn the B.S. degree from Thomas University in Medical Technology. The graduate is now eligible to sit for the national certification exam in Medical Technology after completing one year as an employed Medical Technologist. Successful completion of the exam will culminate in licensure as a Medical Technologist/ Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

Thomas University has entered into a partnership with Southwest Georgia Technical College (SWGTC) to allow holders of the two-year degree in Medical Laboratory Technology to acquire the Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology.
