MSN-MBA Dual Master's Degree

TU's MSN-MBA dual master's degree program allows bachelor’s-prepared R.N.s to earn a MSN-MBA dual degree. This 54-credit program is designed to prepare advanced practice nurse leaders for the complex demands of leadership positions.

PROGRAM STIPULATIONS

The MSN-MBA dual degree is available ONLY to students with a prior MBA or MSN degree from Thomas University OR seeking the dual degree with no prior MBA or MSN degree.

Four Scenarios

FOUR STUDENT SCENARIOS

1) A student holding an MSN with a Nursing Education concentration will be required to complete the 24 credits of MBA courses listed above and NSG 644, an administration-focused internship, for a total of 27 credits beyond the MSN to earn the MSN-MBA dual degree.

2) A student holding an MSN with a Nursing Administration concentration will be required to complete the 24 credits of MBA courses listed above. If the student took any of the listed courses as electives in his/her MSN program, he/she will be required to take six credits of alternate MBA coursework. This student takes a total of 24 credits beyond the MSN to earn the MSN-MBA dual degree.

3) A student holding an MBA must take the following courses:
NSG 602, NSG 606, NSG 612 NSG 614, NSG 644, NSG 646, and two NSG electives
The student will not be required to take the following courses:
NSG 604, NSG 608, NSG 610, NSG 616
This student takes a total of 24 credits beyond the MBA to earn the MSN-MBA dual degree.

4) A student holding neither prior degree who seeks the dual degree will be required to complete all of the program credits listed. This students takes a total of 54 credits to earn the MSN-MBA dual degree.
