WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Any student wishing to exempt CSC 120 may take the Computer Proficiency Exam. At each academic program’s discretion, all students who have declared a major may be required to take the Computer Proficiency Exam. Students who fail the exam may re-take CSC 120 or find some other means of remediation.


WHAT THE EXAM COVERS

The exam tests proficiency in these areas: Microsoft Excel (spreadsheet), PowerPoint (presentations), Word (word processing), the Windows operating system, and the Internet.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Students do not receive any credits by taking this exam. Students who pass the exam must take three credits toward graduation requirements in another course in place of CSC 120.
  • Students must pre-register online.
  • Students must pay an exam fee of $25.00 to the Business Office before the exam date and must bring the receipt to the exam.
