Professional Expertise / Area(s) of Teaching and/or Practice:
As a previous Division Chair for Developmental Studies, I was responsible for development and implantation of the Freshmen Success program and the SOAR Freshmen advising program. I also teach University studies and developmental courses, primarily UNV 101/102 Freshmen Success and REA 099 College Reading Skills. I oversee advising and advisor training for both pre-professional and professional advisors.
As Asst. Academic Dean, I oversee the day to day operations of Academic Affairs, including publishing the Course schedule each semester, upholding the academic policies as set forth in the TU Catalog, hearing student concerns and grade appeals, chairing the Operational Team, serving on Academic Council and completing other assignments as designated by the VPAA. In addition, the Office of the Registrar and the Library are also under my oversight.
Research Interests and Significant Professional Accomplishments
Co-authored Title III planning grant in 2004 and received funds for planning of SOAR Advising program; (Title III funds not available the next year to apply for actual Title III grant).
