Administrative Team

Dr. Gary Bonvillian

As President, Dr. Bonvillian leads a team of faculty and staff in the development and delivery of undergraduate programs in a wide range of subjects. His strategic focus for Thomas University has been on the expansion of program offerings, fiscal strength, enrollment growth and enhancements to the main campus in Thomasville. Under his leadership the school has grown over 40% in the first three years, launched three satellite operations and a certificate program in the People's Republic of China.

Dr. Gary Bonvillian became the 13th President of Thomas University on July 1, 2006, adding to a long career in college administration at other institutions of higher learning. Prior to his inauguration at TU, he served as Provost and Chief Academic Officer at Keuka College in New York; Dean of Business and Health Professions at Mesa State College in Colorado; and Associate Dean of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University and the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.

Bonvillian’s professional expertise includes management, organizational behavior, leading change and strategy in higher education. He is a member of Rotary International and serves on the Archbold Medical Center Board of Trustees.

He holds a Ph.D. from the State University of New York – Buffalo, and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Tim Klocko

As Thomas University’s Vice President of Finance and Administration, Tim Klocko Is responsible for the TU Bookstore, Business Office, Food Service, Facilities Maintenance and Human Resources.

Tim Klocko came to TU 2009, after serving in a similar capacity at other institutions of higher learning. He served as Controller at Grand View College in Iowa and Stephens College in Missouri, and was promoted to Vice-President of Finance at Stephens College prior to coming to TU.

Klocko, whose professional expertise is in accounting, is a member of the National Association of College University Business Officers, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has served as a Board Member for the Boone County Council on Aging and Services for Independent Living, both in Columbia, MO.

Klocko holds an MBA with an emphasis in Accounting, and a BS in Accounting and Finance, both from Northwest Missouri State University.

Dr. Ann Landis

As Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ann Landis is responsible for the administration of eight divisions and 32 academic programs at Thomas University and at the school’s satellite campuses. Her primary responsibilities include the supervision of more than 100 faculty and academic staff, program growth and management, development of satellite, distance, and international programs, community academic partnerships, and operational matters relating to the academic mission.

Landis became Vice President of  Academic Affairs at Thomas University in 2006 after serving in several other academic capacities at TU. Beginning her career at TU as an adjunct instructor for English Composition Courses, Landis was hired as full-time Assistant Professor of English in 1998, and has since served as Division Chair, Associate Dean and Dean of Arts and Sciences. Prior to coming to TU, she taught English at the secondary level in Virginia, and taught English and Humanities at Bluffton University in Ohio and at Florida State University.

Landis is a member of Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society; the National Council of Teachers of English; the Nature Conservancy; and the Southern Poverty Law Center. She also serves on the Thomas University Business Advisory Board; the TU Clinical Laboratory Science Advisory Board; the EXCEL Mentoring Program Board; the TU Nursing Advisory Board; and the TU Social Work Advisory Council.

She holds a Ph.D. in Humanities from Florida State University; an MA in English from James Madison University.

Richard Munroe

Richard  (Rick) A. Munroe Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Thomas University is responsible for alumni affairs, fundraising, communication, public relations, and governmental affairs.

Richard A. Munroe became Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Thomas University in 2003, after service in the U.S. Navy and experience as an administrator at the college level. Prior to joining the TU staff, he was Annual Fund Director and Regional Campaigne Director at Trine University in Indiana.

Munroe’s professional expertise includes alumni relations, university development, public relations and publications. He is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education; a board member for Hands on Thomas County and the International School of Theology and Leadership; and is also a member of the Rotary Club.

Munroe holds an MBA from Thomas University and a B.S. in Public Affairs from Indiana University. 

Micky West

Micky West is the Executive Director of Enrollment Management, Student Affairs and Marketing for Thomas University. In this role, he is responsible for Financial Aid, Admissions, Student Life and Marketing for the university.

West is the former Director of Food Service, Director of Alumni Affairs and Special Events and Director of Development at TU. He joined the administrative team in 2001.

He is a community volunteer, having served as a Board Member for the Thomas County Humane Society, a member of the Thomasville Garden Club, and Committee Chair of the Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival. West holds a BS in Liberal Studies from Thomas University and is now pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education at Capella University.

Linda Herndon

For more than two decades, Linda Herndon has served Thomas University as Assistant to the President and Secretary to the Board of Trustees. Herndon first began work at TU in 1988, under the administration of former TU President Doug Myers.

As a Thomas University alumnus, Herndon has a special dedication to the leadership and vision for the university.

Herndon has been a member of the Junior Service League and the Women’s Forum, and has volunteered at Thomasville’s Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival. She is also former Rotary Employee of the Year.
