Q. What is the deadline for admissions?
A. Students are strongly encouraged to apply and complete their admissions files by the Priority Processing Date for the semester in which they wish to enroll. These dates ensure enrollment completion and class availability.
Priority Processing Dates:
Spring semester: November 1
Summer semester: March 1
Fall semester: June 1
We are eager for you to succeed. The office of admissions will work with you regardless of when you apply to assist in completing your files for the upcoming semester, but there is no guarantee all requirements may be fulfilled in time.
Q. I want to send my SAT/ACT scores to TU- what are your school codes to send them electronically?
A. Our SAT code is: 5072, ACT code is: 0886
Q. What programs of study does TU offer?
A. Click degrees and programs under Academics for a quick to read table of our available programs, whether online, on campus or a combination of both.
Q. What if I don’t see the program of study I was interested in on your list?
A. Much of your first two years of college is applicable to many programs of study. Use TU as a means to launch your college career in an environment that will build your confidence and foster your academic development. Take advantage of our small teacher-student ratio and get a strong solid foundation for your first two years of study. You will be prepared to finish a four-year degree at the college of your choosing.
Q. I have attended more than one college but the classes all show on my most recent transcript, why do I need to provide transcripts from every school?
A. TU requires that you provide official transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended to ensure that your academic file is complete. We also want to ensure that you receive all of the possible transferable credits you deserve. Schools sometime vary in what they deem transferable.
A complete academic file is also necessary to receive financial aid and/or loans.
If you choose, please feel free to use our General Transcript Request Form to assist you with obtaining your official transcripts. Please check with the school(s) from which you are requesting transcripts to ensure this form covers all their requirements for transcripts requests.
Q. Will there be a New Student Orientation Program?
A. Yes, you may participate in the on-campus orientation each fall or on-line orientation via the Internet accessible each semester. If you are available, we encourage your attendance on campus.
In the fall, all new students are invited to attend the New Student Orientation and Priority Registration before the start of the semester. All accepted students will receive a Fall Orientation packet mailed out before the event with more information. Email reminders will be sent as well.
The orientation helps you “beat the rush” of the start of the semester and have a higher chance of securing a spot in their desired classes, have time to meet with advisors, and get to know other students.
Also at this time, residential students will be allowed to move into the Residence Hall.
Our on-line New Student Orientation is available every semester to accommodate our distance learners and those unable to attend the traditional on-campus orientation in fall.
Q. I am not a resident of Georgia. Is it going to cost more for me to attend since I am an out-of-state student?
A. No. TU does not charge out of state tuition, so whether you live in Georgia or elsewhere in the U.S. you pay the same tuition.
Q. Does Thomas University offer student housing?
A. Yes. TU offers student housing on a limited basis. Residence hall housing is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and you MUST SUBMIT an application for student housing in addition to your admissions application. This is a separate application form that is issued by the Office of Admissions once your admission file is complete.

Q. Am I required to live on campus?
A. TU does not require students to live on campus. Alternate student housing arrangements in the community are the sole responsibility of the student.
Q. Are there places on campus to eat?
A. TU has The Hawk’s Nest, a great on-campus cafeteria that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner Mondays – Thursdays (we do not have class on Fridays so the Hawk’s Nest is closed). We do not require student meal plans. You may also choose to dine at any of the community restaurants. Thomas University is centrally located to shopping, dining and entertainment, all within a 5-10 minute drive.
Q. What about transportation? May freshmen have cars on campus?
A.Yes, all students (including freshmen) are allowed to have cars on campus. The Thomas University Residence Hall is located 2 miles from the classroom area on campus so transportation is a must. Thomas University provides a shuttle service to and from campus for our students living in the TU Residence Hall(s). Our campus is fairly compact so you can easily walk from one classroom building to another in the allotted time in between classes. Parking is not a problem.
Q. What kinds of computing facilities are available? Should I bring my own computer?
A. There are centrally located computer labs on campus for your use. E-mail accounts and Internet use are free. All the residence hall rooms have Internet access for use with your personal computer.
Q. May I visit campus?
A. Thomas University offers campus visits Monday through Friday. We encourage you to visit during the week, while our classes are in session. This gives you the chance to receive a more accurate impression of a typical day here at TU.
TU Campus Visits will also allow you the perfect opportunity to tour our beautiful campus, meet with your admissions representatives, talk with financial aid, check out student life, and learn more about the program of that interest you.

Q. What is the city of Thomasville like?
A.The City of Roses is a safe and vibrant town located 45 miles west of Valdosta, 55 miles south of Albany and 35 miles north of Tallahassee, FL. Thomasville has plenty of shopping, dining, entertainment and recreation often found only in larger cities.
