ACTU's mission is to combine the gifts and energies of Thomas University personnel and students (Act One) with those of community members (Act Two) to provide excellent arts events for the community. Sundays at Four

Arts for the Community at Thomas University presents world music fusion group Trio Bakano as part of the Friday at Noon series. The concert will take place in the chapel of the Thomasville First United Methodist Church located at 425 N. Broad St in Thomasville, GA.

Trio Bakano performs a diverse array of Latin American musical styles and genres, from Afro-Peruvian festejos and Brazilian bossa novas to flamenco-tinged rumbas and Latin jazz classics. Guitarist Carlos Odria is on the faculty of Darton State College in Georgia. Bassist Brian Hall is Associate Professor of Music at Florida A&M University.

Percussionist Michael Bakan is Professor of Ethnomusicology and Head of the World Music Ensembles Program at FSU. The concert is free and open to the public, and a complimentary luncheon provided by the church will follow the performance. For additional information call 229-227-6964 or email
