Residency Policy

If you are considering attending Thomas University please be aware of the live-on policy outlined below. 

Live-On Policy

All students academically classified as freshmen or sophomores, who do not qualify for the residency exemption, are required to live in University housing. This requirement includes students accepted by the Office of Admissions as first time, full time students (12 hours per semester) or transfer students with less than 60 hours of credit


Exemption Policy

To be exempt from housing, you must reside in Thomas, Leon, Jefferson (FL), Gadsden (FL), Grady, Brooks, Colquitt, Decatur or Mitchell county; be enrolled in a fully online program; serve as active duty military; be 21 years or older or married. Complete the Exemption Form and return the form with required documentation to the Office of Admissions 1501 Millpond Road Thomasville, GA 31792 or email to
