The safety of the campus and TU students is an important priority to the entire campus community. We encourage our students to take basic simple precautions:
- Walk with friends after dark.
- Lock your car doors.
- Have your keys in hand as you to walk to your car.
- Report any crime to a campus safety officer or the local police.
Emergency Response and Evacuation Procedures
Thomas University has created an emergency response plan to guide decisions necessary and dictate the parties responsible for action in the case of an emergency. This document is available upon request from the Director of Campus Communications, (229) 227-6903 Ext. 1109.
Although Thomas University feels that its campus is safe, we do understand the importance of promptly notifying students in the event of an emergency. It is imperative that all students understand that this requires cooperation on their part by:
- Updating emergency contact information.
- Reporting any incident requiring immediate attention.
If an emergency involves IMMEDIATE potential or actual harm to yourself or others, CALL 911. Then call the Director of Communications at (229) 977-1449.
An emergency phone station is located on main campus next to the Rust Science Complex.
In all other situations occurring between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., call the Director of Campus Communications at (229) 977-1449. After 6 p.m., call Campus Security at (229) 421-6072.
Our campus crime statistics reflect the extent to which our campus is a safe, secure environment. Click here for the Annual Safety and Fire Report.
