Liburd Honored by NSCAA

Sophomore midfielder Rowan Liburd was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) NAIA All East Team.
The native of Croydon, England led the Night Hawks in goals (11), shots (57) and total points (24) during the 2011 campaign. During his dominant second season in the TU midfield, Liburd had two game winning goals and helped men's soccer to a 12-7 mark and a spot in the Conference Championship Game. Liburd has collected a significant amount of honors this off season having also been selected First Team All Conference and an NAIA Honorable Mention All American.
Two Night Hawks Named to NSCAA Scholar All South Team

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) named two Night Hawks to the Scholar All South Team.
Junior midfielder Nathan Would (Cleethorpes, England) was named to the Second Team and Senior defender Nick Gilpin (Tallahassee, FL) was named as a Honorable Mention. The duo had also been recognized by the NAIA as Scholar Athletes back in December. To be nominated, a student athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games, be a significant contributor to the team and be a junior or above.
Liburd Named Honorable Mention All-American

Sophomore midfielder Rowan Liburd was named a 2011 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American by the NAIA Men's Soccer All-America Selection Committee in recognition of his achievements for the Night Hawks this past season.
The native of Croydon, England led the Night Hawks in goals (11) and total points (24) and was named to the Men's Soccer A.I.I. All Conference Team back in November. Liburd finished second in the voting for Conference Player of the Year and was one of only two student athletes from the A.I.I. to be selected. The selection marks the first time since 2004 that a Night Hawk is named to the All America list. A total of 68 players were named to the First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention All-America Teams.
Two Men's Soccer Players Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes

Two men's soccer players were named to the 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete list. Senior Nick Gilpin (Tallahassee, FL) and junior team captain Nathan Would (Cleethorpes, England) were recognized for their high academic standards as student athletes for the Night Hawks during this past season. Gilpin is a repeat selection having also been honored in 2010.
A total of 286 men's soccer players across the country were recognized and the two Night Hawks were part of only 8 from the Association of Independent Institutions to be named. Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
