General Admission Requirements

All candidates for Graduate Admission must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college/university. The University maintains a rolling admission policy until the class is full.

Candidates for Graduate Admission to Thomas University MUST submit to the Office of Admission each of the following:

  • Application for Graduate Admission
  • A $50 non-refundable application fee
  • A detailed resume
  • A personal statement of career and educational objectives (not to exceed two pages)
  • Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools attended, to be forwarded directly to the Office of Admission at Thomas University
  • Three professional or academic references
  • Additional program specific requirements

Program Specific Admission Requirements for the MSN Program

  • The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing program
    OR
  • If the candidate holds a BA or BS in a field other than nursing and is a graduate of an accredited diploma or Associate Degree Program in nursing, he or she MUST meet the admission requirements and schedule an interview with the Nursing Division Admission Committee. Upon review and approval by the Nursing Division Admission Committee, the applicant may be admitted to the Master in Science nursing program. Additional courses in baccalaureate upper division nursing may be required. AND
  • Candidates must hold a current unencumbered RN license.
  • Candidates must have a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Candidates must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in a nursing major.
  • Candidates must provide evidence of completion of an undergraduate statistics course. The course must have been completed within five years of date of enrollment to Thomas University.
