Academic Appeals Processes
There are a variety of protections offered students at the University to assure fair and consistent treatment in academic matters. For issues of alleged discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, academic dishonesty, violations of the Student Code of Conduct, or to file a grievance or appeal university-related decisions that cannot be resolved through other channels you must follow the specific grievance or appeals procedures detailed in Campus Community Policies (Volume 2 of the Thomas University Policy Manual) or in the Student Handbook (Volume 5 of the Thomas University Policy Manual).
Students are expected to follow all complaint procedures provided by the university for resolving concerns and are assured due process. After exhausting all Thomas University complaint procedures, a student who wishes to lodge a complaint of significant noncompliance with standards, policies, or procedures may do so with his/her relevant state agency, official, and/or accreditor.
The following procedures provide students with the appropriate steps to ensure that their academic issues are handled in a fair and consistent manner:
Deviations from the Course Syllabus
Demonstrably Arbitrary and Unfair Evaluation of Student Work
