Course Grades: A teacher candidate earning a grade below a “C” in a required reading methods course must retake the class.	A “C” or better in the required reading methods course(s) in the teacher candidate’s respective program
Early Childhood Education Field Experience/Student Teaching Midterm/Final Summative Assessment Middle Grades Education Field Experience/Student Teaching Midterm/Final Summative Assessment Secondary English Education Field Experience/Student Teaching Midterm/Final Summative Assessment Reading methods content is assessed on the Formative and Summative Field Experience/Student Teaching Evaluation Forms under the Conceptual Framework area of Content Knowledge. These forms are completed by both the university supervisors and mentor teachers for each field as well as student teaching. Specifications for application of reading strategies are outlined at Target, Acceptable, and Unacceptable levels. For analysis purposes data from these forms are entered into LiveText.	Content Knowledge: Plans and instruction do reflect an in-depth understanding of Language Arts content. National and state Standards are thoroughly addressed. Connections between Language Arts and other disciplines are routinely made.
Mentor Teacher Survey of Teacher Candidate Performance New Teacher Hire Survey Teacher Candidate Self-Assessment Survey Surveys are completed providing information on teacher candidate reading content knowledge to help the faculty evaluate the teacher candidate and the reading education program. The forms are completed by mentor teachers (Mentor Teacher Survey of Teacher Candidate Performance), principals (New Teacher Hire Survey), and teacher candidates (Teacher Candidate Self-Assessment Survey). For analysis purposes data from these forms is entered into LiveText.
