Call for Nominations
The Phi Tau Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society is now accepting nominations for the 2015-2017 Board of Directors. The offices of President, Treasurer, and Faculty Counselor Governance Chair are slated for election this year. Any current member can be nominated or nominate themselves for an office.
We strongly encourage all members to consider serving as an officer of the Phi Tau Chapter. Officers serve to engage members, promote activities and events as well as advance the profession of nursing at every level. For a description of the officer duties please go to Chapter Officers then click on each officer job title for a description of their expected duties. Meetings are typically every other month at a convenient meeting time. If you live outside of the Thomasville/Tallahassee area, various meeting modalities can be used to facilitate participation including telephone conferencing, Skype, and/or Blackboard Collaborate. Active faculty support and guidance is ongoing throughout the year.
The “Call for Nominations” will be open until February 6th, 2015. If you would like your name to be included on the slate of candidates for election, please submit the “Bio for Candidates” and a professional-looking photograph to Dr. Kim Cribb at email@example.com. Candidate biographies and statements will be posted on the Phi Tau Chapter website and available for review by all Chapter members prior to the elections. If you are interested or have questions about these positions please contact Dr. Sue Otto or Prof. Deb Burch in the Nursing Division (phone 229-227-6904).
Elections are slated for the period of February 23- March 9, 2015. Induction of officers will occur at the Spring Induction Ceremony in March 2015. New officers will be oriented to their responsibilities and begin their duties starting in April 2015.
Please consider serving our professional nursing community by becoming an Officer of the Phi Tau Chapter of STTI. This is a wonderful opportunity to network with colleagues and friends, promote professional nursing practice in our region, and support the ongoing educational efforts of The Division of Nursing at Thomas University.
Please continue to check your email for the slate of candidates and voting ballot in mid-February.
