Eleanor Hall

Dr. Eleanor Hall’s research titled “Social Ecology of Adherence to Hypertension Treatment in Latino Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker’s” (MSFWS) has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Transcultural Nursing later this year.  Dr. Hall performed a cross –sectional, correlational study exploring Latino migrant/seasonal farmworkers’ adherence to hypertension treatment.

Eleanor Hall Ph.D., RN Presents Poster at Southern Nursing Research Society Convention

Dr. Eleanor Hall presented a poster entitled "Exploratory factor analysis of a Spanish version of the Blood Pressure Self-care Scale" February 27th at the annual Southern Nursing Research Society Conference held in Little Rock Arkansas.

Eleanor Hall Ph.D., RN chosen as Thomas University's Nurse of Excellence May 2012

Dr. Eleanor Hall was chosen as the Thomas University representative for the Nurse of Excellence award in Tallahassee. It was a wonderful evening with approximately 150 nursing representatives from North Florida in attendance. Dr. Hall's colleagues wrote, She was nominated by the faculty of the Division of Nursing because she exemplifies 4 key attributes of excellence in Nursing. Those attributes are: commitment, competence, compassion, and caring."

 Eleanor Hall Ph.D., RN chosen for Poster Presentation at Southern Nursing Research Society Convention

In February 2012 Dr. Eleanor Hall, Assistant Professor of Nursing, presented her dissertation work via a poster presentation at the SNRS Convention in New Orleans. It was titled:  Social Ecology of Adherence to Hypertension Treatment in Latino Migrant and Seasonal Farm workers in Georgia. She was selected based on criteria specific to the organization which was highly competitive. Congratulations on this exciting accomplishment!


Deborah Burch RN, MSN, CPCE, Adjunct Nursing Instructor, Has Had Two Publications This Month!

Deb participated in a study with the Florida Department of Health on Pregnancy-Associated Mortality.  The publications are listed below – the second one has been picked up by many news outlets in the US and UK/Ireland.  Congratulations, Deb!

Kim Cribb, Ed.D., M.S.N., R.N., C.N.E. Receives The Jane Van de Verde Award from GANE

Congratulations to Dr. Kim Cribb, Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of MSN Program!  Dr. Cribb is this year’s recipient of the Jane Van de Verde Award from the Georgia Association for Nursing Education (GANE).  Criteria for this award are listed below. Jan Van de Verde Award Eligibility Criteria
Award may be granted to an Outstanding Nursing Educator who meets the following criteria:
Nursing Educator in Georgia for a minimum of five years (academic or clinical). Minimum Education - Masters Degree
Has demonstrated a positive influence on Nursing Education in Georgia through one or more of the following examples:
Demonstration of Scholarship, e.g.
Presentations at local, state. or national meetings
Research and/or publications
Grants
Served on regional, state, or national committees r/t to nursing education.
Received teaching award or recognition of excellence in education
Served as Accreditation Site Visitor
Consultant to Educational Programs (academic or clinical)
Instrumental in the development or expansion of a nursing program or the development of an innovative clinical education program


Dr. Kimberly Cribb named to ACEN Board of Commissioners

National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) is governed by fifteen members, called “Board of Commissioners” who are elected by the members at the annual meeting.
 
The Board of Commissioners sets accreditation policy, makes accreditation decisions, and decides corporate matters such as budget, planning, and administrative policy.
Commissioners serve as chairperson of the program specific evaluation review panels.  The final decision of accreditation status is based on review of program materials, peer reviewer reports and recommendations.

The outside perspectives of Commissioners provide an objective appraisal of NLNAC business and evaluation activities.  The NLNAC also benefits from the members’ first-hand experience and broad range of contacts with nursing, higher education, health service delivery systems, and business, community, and other professional groups.”
