Graduate Student
A graduate applicant must submit the following items before an admissions decision can be made:
- Graduate Admission Application
- A $50 non-refundable application fee
- A detailed résumé
- A personal statement of career and educational objectives (not to exceed two pages)
- Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools attended, to be forwarded directly to the Office of Admission at Thomas University
- Three professional or academic references (reference form (pdf))
- Additional program specific requirements
All candidates for Graduate Admission must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college/university. The university maintains a rolling admission policy until the class is full.
Admissions Requirements for Special Students:
Definition: Special students wish to take individual graduate courses, but are not pursuing a degree or graduate certificate. Special Students can take up to 6 credits as a Special Student. They must then be admitted to the Graduate Certificate or Degree Program and transfer those credits toward the program.
Special students must submit the following:
- Graduate Admissions Application

- Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools attended, to be forwarded directly to the Office of Admission at Thomas University
- Minimum GPA required by program
- A personal statement of career and educational objectives (not to exceed two pages)

Program Specific Admission Requirements
MBA Program
- Special Note: In order to successfully complete required graduate courses, candidates for admission to the MBA program should have successfully completed each of the following undergraduate courses prior to enrollment OR be prepared to complete these courses at Thomas University. Students must earn a grade of C or better in each course.
- BUS 200 Principles of Financial Accounting
- BUS 210 Principles of Macroeconomics
- BUS 320 Principles of Finance
- STA 250 Statistics
- Candidates must have a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
MSN-MBA Dual Degree Program
- Candidates must hold a current unencumbered RN license.
- Candidates must meet all requirements for admission to the MSN and MBA program.
- Additional MBA Workshops may be required prior to enrollment in MBA courses.
MSN Program
- Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program OR hold a BA or BS in a field other than nursing. Additional "bridge" courses in baccalaureate upper division nursing may be required if the undergraduate degree is not in Nursing.
- Candidates must hold a current unencumbered RN license.
- Candidates must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Candidates must provide evidence of completion of an undergraduate statistics course completed within five years to date of enrollment to Thomas University.
RN-MSN Program
- Candidates must be a graduate of an associate degree (ADN) or diploma (RN) program in Nursing.
- Candidates must hold a current unencumbered RN license or obtain RN licensure within six months or graduation from an ADN or diploma nursing program.
- Candidates must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Candidates must possess basic computer skills proficiency (Microsoft Word, Email, attachments).
- Candidates must complete English102 or equivalent prior to enrollment.
MEd Program
- Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Candidates must hold a clear and renewable teaching certificate in at least one teaching field, or hold a non-renewable certificate and be enrolled in a state approved alternative certification program.
- Candidates must have a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 in all professional coursework.
MSCC or MSRC Programs
- Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Candidates must have a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (UGPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
