A transient student is a “visiting” student who wishes to take course work at Thomas University for one semester and then return to his/her “home” institution.
A transient applicant must submit the following items before an admissions decision can be made:
- Fully-completed application for admission
- $35 non-refundable application fee
- Transient permission letter/form from their “home” institution*
* Transient students are responsible for contacting their registrar to obtain the transient permission letter/form to submit to TU. The transient permission letter/form will state what course (or courses) have been approved by their current institution and that the student is in good academic standing.

Enrollment as a transient student is limited to one consecutive semester. A transient student wishing to continue enrollment at Thomas University as a degree-seeking transfer student must reapply as a transfer student and fulfill all transfer admission requirements.
Since transient students are “visiting” students financial aid is not guaranteed. Transient students will need to contact the Office of Financial Aid to discuss their options. All students are required to pay tuition before the first day of classes.
