Social Networking and the social web
Since this is an evolving topic, check occasionally for new information.
The purpose of this section is to provide the Thomas University policies relevant to use of the Internet and Social Network sites by members of the Thomas University community, address some of the current concerns about social networking and privacy, and provide additional information of interest.
Check out "9 Important Things to Keep in Mind" for tips on posting information to the social Web, the New York Times Magazine article by Jeffrey Rosen "The Web Means the End of Forgetting", and the YouTube videos below from the Ad Council. Also, take a look at Part I and Part II of the New York Times "Answers to Questions About Internet Privacy" with Michael Fertik, founder of Reputation Defender, and Paul Ohm, law professor at the University of Colorado. For more information, as always, just ask a librarian!
