DIRECT Stafford Loan Application
- Before applying for a loan, you must complete the FAFSA. It may take up to 2-3 weeks for your FAFSA to process. Be sure to include our school code (001555).
- Once we receive your processed FAFSA (Student Aid Report), we will review your file for completeness. Our office will notify you if we need additional information.
- If you are a new Stafford Loan borrower or if you have never had a loan through Direct Loans, you will need to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for Direct Loans. This document is your contract with the lender agreeing to repay the loan when the time comes to do so.
If you are a new student, you must be officially accepted to Thomas University via the Office of Admissions before we can award any financial aid to you. Once you are accepted, we can then move forward with the award process.
Your financial aid award offer will include any applicable grants and scholarships along with a Stafford Loan offer. You must log in to Hawklink to accept or decline the awards offered to you. If you wish to make adjustments to the loan amount(s) offered, you will need to contact the Office of Financial Aid.
