| Fact: Thomas University has one of the lowest tuition rates among other private, four-year institutions in Georgia. Fact: The percentage of low and middle income students at Thomas University is comparable to that of state institutions. Fact: Students who work full-time, have a high school equivalency diploma, or face other challenges are far more likely to graduate from a private college or university than a state institution. Fact: The public universities in our area have a time limit on how old transfer credits can be, thus requiring students to repeat many “core curriculum” classes such as History, Algebra, etc. TU has no such limit. This adds to the overall cost to the student (estimate $800-$5000.00 at a neighboring university, plus fees). Fact: Students who earn Bachelor’s degrees are able to do so sooner at a private institution than at state institutions, avoiding additional tuition and beginning their careers earlier. Fact: Financial aid for part-time students may be available. Fact: Some local employers offer tuition assistance. Check with your employer to see if tuition assistance or scholarships are available. TU can bill your employer directly. Fact:The public universities require additional core curriculum courses in most degree completion programs that are not required at TU such as Chemistry and Algebra in the RN-BSN program. This extra requirement adds to the overall cost to earn the degree (estimate approximately $2000.00 at a nearby university). Fact: Part-time enrollment is available. Full-time enrollment is 12-18 credit hours per semester. For students taking fewer than 12 credit hours, the tuition is $500 per credit hour plus fees. Financial aid for part-time students may be available. |
