Learn about Who Needs A Flu Vaccine.

Flu Vaccination

If you want to protect yourself from getting the flu you should get vaccinated. The vaccine is for people over 6 months of age. It’s never too late to get vaccinated. Even if you have had flu-like symptoms you should get vaccinated once you are feeling better.

You need the flu vaccine every year as the types of viruses causing the flu change. The flu shot does not contain live virus so you cannot get the flu from getting vaccinated. A nasal spray is available as a vaccine and contains live-attenuated (weakened) influenza viruses.
