Secondary grades Education program
The Thomas University Division of Education goal is to prepare teacher candidates who are knowledgeable in content, and are able to employ a variety of instructional strategies to help all students learn. Our faculty is committed to helping the teacher candidate become an effective secondary grades teacher.
The Secondary Education Program prepares students to teach either English or Mathematics in secondary schools (grades 6-12).
A carefully planned sequence of methods courses have clinical experiences embedded to provide early and frequent opportunities to practice in local schools under the supervision of a mentor teacher and university supervisor.
Our program offers small classes taught by highly qualified professors. Students entering each semester participate as a cohort of teacher candidates moving through the program together, providing the opportunity for students to build close working relationships. Professors and advisors are available for frequent advising and guidance.
We invite you to join us and become an educator prepared to teach in the schools of tomorrow!
