Conductor Nicole Davis gives instructions to the Thomasville Singers before starting a recent rehearsal.

Thomasville Singers to present winter concert on Dec. 2

The Thomasville Singers will present their winter concert, “Glow,” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Thomasville Center for the Arts.

The name of the concert comes from the featured work of music.

“‘Glow’ is a song composed by Eric Whitacre and was featured in ‘Walt Disney World’s World of Color Winter Dreams,’” said Nicole Davis, Conductor of the Thomasville Singers. “It's a really beautiful, ethereal piece that has become one of our favorites. We plan to feature this piece visually as well to create a fully artistic experience for the audience.”

In addition to “Glow,” the performance will include other holiday music.

“Thomasville Singers consists of about 30 members, all volunteers, ages 15 to over 70,” Davis said. “It’s a true community choir where everyone is involved. This year I’m showing diversity of the choir through our music selections and joy of unity through our collaborative efforts to present the concert.”

The Thomasville Singers are part of the Arts for the Community at Thomas University series. For additional information, call 229-227-6964 or email actu@thomasu.edu.
