TU named to list of Best Online Colleges in Georgia has named Thomas University to its list of top online colleges in Georgia. Thomas University came in at number 15 in the list of 24 top online colleges in the state. According to the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA), Georgia has 72 colleges and universities with online programs. ranked online colleges based on the quality of their programs, “the quality of their programs, types of courses and degrees offered, faculty strengths, as well as school awards, rankings, and reputation, including a strong reputation for online degree programs,” according to its website.

“Thomas University was one of the first colleges in the state to offer online programs,” said Dr. Andy Sheppard, TU president. “Over the years our faculty and administrators have worked diligently to continually improve these programs so that our students receive the best experience in online education that will prepare them for their careers.”

In ranking, the website specifically notes TU’s online undergraduate degree programs in criminal justice and medical laboratory science as well as its online Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling. The website also acknowledges TU’s Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Business Administration online dual degree, which enables registered nurses to complete both graduate degrees while still working full-time.

“TU understands that working adults often want to change careers or advance in their current careers,” Sheppard said. “We recognize that these students also have family and work responsibilities. By offering these degrees completely online, TU provides an avenue for non-traditional students to achieve their goals.”
