ACTU to present Musical Valentines on Sunday

Arts for the Community at Thomas University (ACTU) will present a concert of “Musical Valentines” on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary of Trinity Anglican Church, 325 West Jackson St., Thomasville.

The program is part of ACTU’s Sundays at Four series and will feature performances by vocalists Rebecca Fadell, Melinda Melendez, Lisa Gatherer, Karl Barton, and pianist Jim Amend.

“This concert is always an audience favorite and will have a few surprises as well,” said Dr. Karl Barton, ACTU series coordinator.

The eclectic program will include works by Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Duke Ellington along with selections from the musicals “Cabaret” and “Phantom of the Opera.”

“We are glad to be back at Trinity, and the sanctuary is so well-suited for live music that it is a real treat to perform there,” Barton said. “We are very happy to offer these Musical Valentines to the community.”

The concert is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $5 per person. A reception will follow the performance. For additional information, visit www.thomasu.edu/actu, call 229-227-6964 or email actu@thomasu.edu.
