TU Book Club to discuss Unsworth’s ‘Morality Play’

During the next meeting of the Thomas University Book Club on Monday, Jan. 22, attendees will discuss Barry Unsworth’s “Morality Play.”

Set in the 14th century in rural England, a troupe of actors decide to break the tradition of performing only religious plays and instead perform a play focusing on a murder. As the actors delve into their work, they encounter a feud of political power and social class that may be their downfall. This medieval murder mystery intrigues readers with its masterful storytelling.

Leading the discussion will be Dr. Jason Dunn, an Associate Professor of English at Thomas University. Dunn holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of South Florida, a master’s degree in English from San Diego State University, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of California-Davis. Before joining TU, he was an Assistant Professor, Communications and Honors Faculty, at the College of Central Florida; an Associate Instructor and then Lecturer in the English Department and University Writing Program at the University of California-Davis; and an English Instructor in the English Department and the Department of Rhetoric and Writing Studies at San Diego State University.

The Book Club meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Campus Center Classroom on TU’s Forbes Campus. The meeting is free and open to the public. For more information, call 229-227-6964 or email actu@thomasu.edu.
