TU names Stringfellow new director of development

The Institutional Advancement Division at Thomas University has appointed Kurt Stringfellow as its new Director of Development. In this role, Stringfellow leads TU’s fundraising efforts.

Originally from Moultrie, Georgia, Stringfellow holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Georgia. Before joining TU, he served as the chief executive officer of the Columbia YMCA in Columbia, South Carolina, and as president and CEO of the Sarasota Family YMCA in Sarasota, Florida. Stringfellow also served in leadership positions at several other YMCA locations in Georgia and Florida.

He has been honored for his work with the 2014 Sarasota NAACP Freedom Award; the 2013 “Bulldog 100” award for a University of Georgia alumnus with one of the fastest growing businesses; and several YMCA professional excellence awards. Stringfellow also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

“We are delighted to have Kurt join the TU Institutional Advancement Team,” said Dr. Grady Enlow, Vice President for Advancement. “He embraces the same values that the Y stands for: caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. The Advancement team at TU knows those values fit well into our culture, and we look forward to working with him to translate his fundraising experience into the case for higher education.”

Stringfellow and his wife, Charlotte, are the parents of a 13-year-old son.

“South Georgia is a great place to call home again,” Stringfellow said. “Thomas University has a bright future with lots of potential, and I’m honored to be a part of TU.”
