Thomas University becomes partner with Air University

Thomas University officials announced on Tuesday that TU is now a partner of the Air University providing courses for members of the U.S. Air Force who are pursuing college degrees.

TU is a partner in the Air University Associate to Baccalaureate Cooperative (AU-ABC), which allows enlisted airmen with an associate degree to enroll in TU’s online Bachelor of Science Degree program in Rehabilitation Studies.

“This partnership is another way that Thomas University can help our military men and women,” said Susan Backofen, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “TU is honored to be of service to those who serve our country.”

Participants in the AU-ABC program must be active duty Air Force, Air Force Reserve or Air National Guard. For enlisted airmen with an associate degree, the BS in Rehabilitation Studies could be completed in 60 semester hours.

“Because this program is completely online, airmen – and anyone enrolled in the degree program – can complete the program from anywhere in the world as long as there is an internet connection,” Backofen said. “This will be especially helpful for airmen who can continue taking classes even when they’re deployed.”

Thomas University also recently became a partner of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) offering General Education Mobile coursework. Through this program, airmen pursuing an associate degree through the CCAF can choose to take online core courses through TU. The credits earned count toward the associate degree from the CCAF.

TU’s Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Studies is one of only a few undergraduate degrees in rehabilitation services in the region. TU’s program began in the fall of 2013 and includes concentration options in School-to-Work Transitions, Addictions, Gerontology and Criminal Justice.
